We recently decided to sell a coin collection which consisted of pennies going back to before 1856 and a lot of silver coins including silver dollars. Before bringing our coins to American Rare Coin and Collectibles, we visited two other dealers, one more upscale, the other not. Both were willing to pay us for the coins in sort of a lump sum fashion. Then we went to American Rare Coin. The Numismatist looked, and closely evaluated our coins. One penny was worth $900. We left the office with what we felt was a very fair payment for our collection. It was a totally satisfying experience.
