Morgan Dollars
(1878-1904)
Silver dollars continue to be one of the most popular United States coins. The largest US Silver coins struck, silver dollars circulated widely in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. A throw back from the days when the dollar was backed by the silver value it contained, each coin was struck containing .77 of an ounce of silver.
